Introduction

Welcome to the PCC Extension course, Off Hollywood. Over the next few weeks, we'll be exploring the art of film and video, particularly work that falls outside of the traditional Hollywood system. We'll be examining foreign films, documentaries, experimental films, video art, and other less conventional forms of cinematic art.

Description

This is a five-week long course that's divided into five lessons. The lessons consist of reading (including PDF text excerpts) and video (short films and video clips). Each lesson should each take approximately one hour to complete (though of course you can work at your own pace). About the Instructor

Jamie Naqvi has been a filmmaker and video-artist for over a decade. An MFA graduate in Film/Video from Cal Arts, his work has shown in festivals and galleries in the U.S. and in Europe.
